Indian KATHRIKA MASALA recipe

INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)

Kathrika/ Eggplant 10 small (purple)
Urid dal 1/2 tsp
Mustard seed 1/2 tsp
Red chili 2
Turmeric 1/2 tbsp
Chili powder 1 tbsp
Garlic 6 pods
Oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

STEP BY STEP METHOD

Steps

Method
1 Wash and cut the kathrika into quarters ( if small purple) or into 1 inch cubes.
2 In a large frying pan season the mustard seeds with urid dal and red chili.
3 When they pop add kathrika, turmeric, chili powder and garlic with some extra water to cook. Close the lid
4 When kathirka is cooked turn off heat.
5 Remove and Serve as side dish
