Cook a Delicious Tamil MUSHROOM CURRY Recipe

INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)

Mushrooms 2 cups-finely chopped
Onions 1 medium
Chili powder 1/2 tbsp
Red Chilis 3
Cumin powder 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Urid dal 1 tsp
Mustard seed 1 tsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp or to taste

STEP BY STEP METHOD

Method
1 Cut the mushrooms sideways with the stems and wash them well in water
2 Pour oil in a large frying pan. Add urid dal, red chilis(broken) and mustard seed. Fry till urid dal becomes brown and mustard seeds pop
3 Add chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric and coriander powder and fry well into a paste.
4 Add the onion (sliced) and fry together in medium heat. After about one minute add 3 cups of water and let it boil for 3-4 minutes.
5 Add the mushrooms now and cover with a lid for about 2 minutes. Check to see the mushroom is soft. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for about 3(chewy and tasty) to 5 minutes(soft and tender). Turn off the heat and serve it hot
