Ingredients:
- Toor dal1 cup
- onions1
- Tomato 2
- Curry leavesa few
- Green chili3
- Mustard seeds1/2 Tablespoons
- urid dal1 Teaspoons
- Cumin powder1/2 Tablespoons
- Asafoetida1/2 Teaspoons
- Red Chili1 Teaspoons
- Oil2 Tablespoons
- Saltto taste
Preparation mode:
- Rinse toor dal. You can use a pressuer cooker and cook it for about 15 minutes after the first whistle
- After that turn to medium heat
- Use a frying pan and pour oil and heat it
- Add mustard seeds and urid dal and wait till it pops out and add curry leaves
- Now you may add cut onions and tomato with green chili and fry well
- Pour a little bit of water now and add red chili powder and cumin powder
- close with a lid and Cook for about 5 minutes
- Now add the toor dal cooked and mix well

A very tasty and quick side dish for any time of the day. You can use this for dips for chaptis and bread. Use with white rice and rasam as well.
